What is Digital Painting?

Digital painting is accomplished by drawing or painting directly into a computer. These days, in addition to many commercial applications, artists view digital art as another interesting medium in which to turn their imagination loose and create digital drawings as a basis for their fine art.

The foundations of digital painting are in traditional art skills. I use a computer software package with multiple design and brush stroke features to create my images but the concepts, shapes, colours, textures and everything else about the images are my own.

Acrylic-enhanced Images

When I complete a digital painting, I then blow it up to the size I want, print it onto heavy photo paper and add finishing touches using acrylic paints. These creations are uniquely mine. Sometimes I combine images and backgrounds for even more interesting and adventuresome results.

I hope you like my images!
